James Imber

James leads part of Imagination Technologies’ AI Research team. He has 10 years’ experience as a researcher in the semiconductor IP industry, during which time he has contributed to 50 granted patents and published in international conferences including ECCV and ICPR. He received 2020's Electronics Weekly’s BrightSparks award for young engineers in recognition of his research. His interests are in image processing, graphics, neural network accelerators, compilers, and low-precision inference targeting embedded systems. He completed his PhD studies at the University of Surrey’s Center for Vision, Speech, and Signal Processing (CVSSP) on shape-assisted intrinsic image decomposition and holds a BEng from the University of Southampton in Electronic Engineering.
